Correction: Widespread white matter microstructural abnormalities in bipolar disorder: evidence from mega- and meta-analyses across 3033 individuals

Fronto-limbic white matter (WM) abnormalities are assumed to lie at the heart of the pathophysiology of bipolar disorder (BD); however, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies have reported heterogeneous results and it is not clear how the clinical heterogeneity is related to the observed differences. PRK1 phosphorylates MARCKS at the PKC sites: serine 152, serine 156 and serine 163

AbstractThe 80kDa Myristolated Alanine-Rich C-Kinase Substrate (MARCKS) in a major in vivo substrate of protein kinase C (PKC). Here we report that MARCKS is a major substrate for the lipid-activated PKC-related kinase (PRK1) in cell extracts. Furthermore, PRK1 is shown to phosphorylate MARCKS on the same sites as PKC in vitro. Thus, control of MARCKS phosphorylation on these previously identified ‘PKC’ sites may be regulated under certain circumstances by PRK as well as PKC mediated signalling pathways. The implications for MARCKS as a marker of PKC activation and as a point of signal convergence are discussed.

Abstract Recombinant baculovirus particles displaying green fluorescent protein (GFP) fused to the major envelope glycoprotein gp64 of the Autographa californica multicapsid nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) were characterized by fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS). FCS detected Brownian motion of single, intact recombinant baculovirus display particles with a diffusion coefficient (D) of (2.89±0.74)10 8 cm2s 1 and an apparent hydrodynamic radius of 83.35±21.22 nm. Bidirectional random motion driven by globally coupled noisy active elements in an electric field

The assembly of the insulating Brownian particles globally coupled due to the macroscopic flow of the liquid with low conductivity has transitions between the states of random motion and random bidirectional and unidirectional motion. The threshold values of the parameters for the transition to random bidirectional motion is found by the effective field method and correspond to those found by Brownian dynamics. The behavior of the assembly is similar to the behavior of different active multistable systems.
Dynamics of Confined Crowd Modelled Using Fermionic Operators

An operatorial method based on fermionic operators is used to describe the dynamics of a crowd made of different kind of populations mutually interacting and moving in a two–dimensional bounded closed region. The densities of the populations are recovered through the Heisenberg equation and the diffusion process is driven by the Hamiltonian operator defined by requiring that the populations move along optimal paths. We apply the model obtained in a concrete situation and we discuss the effect of the interaction between the populations during their motion.

In this paper we examine the conservative averaging method (CAM) along the vertical z-coordinate for solving the 3-D boundary-value 2 layers diffusion problem. The special parabolic and hyperbolic type approximation (splines), that interpolate the middle integral values of piece-wise smooth function, is investigated. With the help of these splines the problems of mathematical physics in 3-D with respect to one coordinate are reduced to problems for system of equations in 2-D in every layer. Mechanisms Suppressing Superheavy Element Yields in Cold Fusion Reactions.

Superheavy elements are formed in fusion reactions which are hindered by fast nonequilibrium processes. To quantify these, mass-angle distributions and cross sections have been measured, at beam energies from below-barrier to 25% above, for the reactions of $^{48}\mathrm{Ca}$, $^{50}\mathrm{Ti}$, and $^{54}\mathrm{Cr}$ with $^{208}\mathrm{Pb}$. Moving from $^{48}\mathrm{Ca}$ to $^{54}\mathrm{Cr}$ leads to a drastic fall in the symmetric fission yield, which is reflected in the measured mass-angle distribution by the presence of competing fast nonequilibrium deep inelastic and quasifission processes.
